How to opt out of FastPeopleSearch
- 1
Note what your listing says
Before you start, search your name on FastPeopleSearch and note exactly what your listing says: the spelling of your name, your age, the city and the addresses shown. You'll need to copy these into the form later.
- 2
Request an opt-out link
Go to fastpeoplesearch.com/optout, enter your email address and name, and complete the CAPTCHA.
- 3
Open the email
Open the email FastPeopleSearch sends and click the link. The site warns it "may take some time to arrive", so check spam too.
- 4
Click the link within 24 hours
After 24 hours the link expires and you'll have to request a new one.
- 5
Fill in the opt-out form
The details must match the record you want removed. Leaving things out or entering inaccurate information "will only hinder the opt-out process", so use what the listing shows, even if it's an old address.
- 6
Check again after 3 days
Give it 3 days, then search for yourself again.
Watch out for
- The emailed link expires after 24 hours, and you'll have to request a new one if you miss it.
- The form details must match the listing you want removed, even if it shows an old address.
- If you have more than one listing (an old surname, a second city), run the removal for each one. FastPeopleSearch doesn't say that one request covers duplicates.
- A request to opt out of the sale of your information applies across the company's sister sites, but the filing doesn't say the same for removing your listing.

Sister sites
These are run by the same company. Removing yourself from FastPeopleSearch doesn't remove you from them, so check each one.
Does it come back?
It can. FastPeopleSearch's privacy policy says "even if you opt out, your publicly available information may appear in our Data Products again in the future", and an opt-out "will not remove the data from its original source". Search yourself every few months and after any move, since a new address is exactly the kind of fresh record that brings a listing back.
Your rights
FastPeopleSearch says publicly available information isn't covered by state privacy laws and that it honors opt-outs on that data "as a courtesy", so the opt-out form is still your most direct route.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

Frequently asked
Is FastPeopleSearch the same as FastPeopleSearch.io?
Not officially. The California registry lists only FastPeopleSearch.com under Mississippi Tornado Alley, LLC, so treat look-alike domains as separate sites with their own opt-outs.
My opt-out link doesn't work. What now?
Links expire 24 hours after they're sent. Go back to fastpeoplesearch.com/optout and request a new one.
Does removing myself from FastPeopleSearch remove me from USPhoneBook or the other sister sites?
The company's registry filing only says that opting out of the sale of your data carries across its sites. Check each sister site and remove yourself where you're listed.
How long does FastPeopleSearch take to remove a record?
The site says to allow 3 days. Google results can take longer to drop.
