  2. 2

Enter your name and the info to look for

Enter your name and the contact info you want Google to find in search results, such as your home address, phone number or email address.

  3. 3

    Review the matches

Go through the results on the To review tab. If a result is fine, choose Mark as reviewed and nothing is submitted.

  4. 4

    Request removal

Select a result to expand it, then choose Request to remove.

  5. 5

    Confirm and track the request

Google emails you to confirm the request and to send status updates. You can also check status any time under Removal requests in Results about you.

Watch out for

  • Google may keep some results up because they're considered valuable to the public, such as government, educational, newspaper or business websites. For those, the Remove result option doesn't appear.
  • Removing a result from Search doesn't remove the page. The contact info stays on the site that published it, so you may need to contact that site separately.
  • Requests about contact info of someone under 18 go through a separate detailed removal request form.
  • The tool is rolling out for people over 18 in certain markets, so you may not see it yet.

What stays out there

Results about you cleans up what Google shows. The people-search sites and data brokers that publish your address and phone number keep their listings, and Google can show new ones later.

That's the part Serus handles: it finds where your details are listed and removes them at the source. See serus.ai.

Frequently asked

What is Results about you?

It's a Google tool that checks whether your personal contact info, like your home address, phone number or email address, appears in search results, and lets you request removal of those results.

Does it delete the page from the internet?

No. Google's help page says removing contact info from Search doesn't remove it from the web. Only the search result goes away.

How do I check on a removal request?

Google emails you to confirm a request and with status updates. You can also see every request under Removal requests in Results about you.

Why isn't there a Remove option on some results?

Google may keep results it considers valuable to the public, such as government, educational, newspaper or business websites, and the Remove result option doesn't appear for them.
