- 4

Watch out for
- The opt-out covers the site's data products, not the original public records. The notice says its services use publicly available information, which state privacy laws don't cover.
- Cookie and tracking opt-outs are separate. To stop sharing through website tracking you need to change cookie settings or send a Global Privacy Control signal.
- The emailed link expires after 24 hours, and then you request a new one.

Does it come back?
Yes, possibly. The site says new public records arrive regularly, so even after you opt out your publicly available information may appear in its data products again. Check again every few months and repeat the opt-out.
Your rights
In its 2024 California filing, the operator reported 1,204,017 opt-out-of-sale requests across its sites, complied in whole with 993,412 and denied 207,021. Mean response time was 1 day.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
