How to remove yourself from City-Data.com
Also known as Advameg
City-Data.com has two routes: a form that hides your name from street-level property assessment pages, and a privacy form for deleting forum data. The property address itself stays on the page. Search engines can keep old copies.

How to opt out of City-Data.com
- 1
Decide what you want removed
City-Data separates name-to-address listings on property assessment pages from personal information on its forum.
- 2
For property pages, use the disassociation form
Submit the request to disassociate your name from a street-level assessment address. City-Data hides your name from the pages listing that address.
- 3
For forum data, use the privacy form
Use the privacy form. It asks for your full name, forum username and the email you registered with.
- 4
Verify
For the forum form, City-Data verifies by sending a code to your registration email or by having you log in and complete a task.
Watch out for
- Disassociating your name doesn't remove the property address or its related information. They display as before.
- City-Data says search engines such as Google may take a long time to drop cached copies, and it can't control that.
- Forum deletion de-identifies data: the username is changed, the email scrambled and the IP address replaced. It isn't a full erasure.
- People legally shielded, such as law enforcement officials, need extra verification.

Your rights
City-Data.com is run by Advameg, Inc. The California registry lists a different company, CITYDATA Inc. (CityData.ai), which handles mobile device data and takes opt-outs at citydata.ai/privacy.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

No. The assessment form hides your name from address pages, and the property address and related information still display.
Is City-Data the same as CityData.ai?
No. CityData.ai is a separate company on the California registry. It works from mobile device identifiers and takes opt-outs on its own privacy page.

Forum members report that you can't delete the account. The privacy form de-identifies your data by changing the username, scrambling the email and replacing the IP address.
