How to remove yourself from Irys
Irys holds location data tied to your phone's advertising ID, not a profile with your name on it. Use its privacy portal or email privacy@irys.us to opt out, delete or access that data. Irys asks for your advertising ID to verify the request.

How to opt out of Irys
- 1
Find your advertising ID
Irys's data is keyed to your device's Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA, and it asks for that ID to verify you. Look it up in your phone's settings first.
- 2
Open the Irys privacy portal
Use the Irys privacy portal and choose opt-out, deletion or access.
- 3
Or email instead
Write to privacy@irys.us asking to opt out of data collection and sharing, to delete your data, or to see it. Irys will ask for extra details to verify your identity.
- 4
Use the footer link for do-not-sell
The "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link in the footer of any irys.us page also opts you out of sale and sharing.
Watch out for
- Irys verifies access, download, deletion and correction requests, and the verification asks for your device's advertising ID. Without it, the request can stall.
- Irys says it shares precise location and device identifiers with partners such as Foursquare, who may use them for their own purposes. Check those partners' own opt-outs too.
What Irys holds about you
- Current address
What Irys is known to collect, not a check of your listing.
Does it come back?
Irys doesn't publish a relisting policy. It collects location data continuously from third-party suppliers, so a new advertising ID, for example after a phone change, is a new record.
Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
