- 1
Choose the right to use
Delete, correct, know, opt out of sale or sharing, or limit sensitive data. Your request has to say which one and how far it reaches.
- 2
Submit the form
Use the online form at jdpower.com/Privacy/DSAR, or call (866) 467-8688 x327. If you have a J.D. Power account, it may require you to submit through that account.
- 3
Expect a verification step
J.D. Power may ask for details to verify your identity and can deny a request it can't verify.
- 4
Wait for the reply
It confirms receipt within 10 days and responds within 45 days.
- 5
Handle tracking separately
For sale or sharing through tracking technologies, use the Do Not Sell or Share button in the site's privacy banner, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Watch out for
- Sale and sharing opt-outs come in two parts: a form for non-tracking data and a banner button or GPC signal for tracking technologies.
- Where J.D. Power handles data as a service provider for another company, it says it supports that company in responding to your request instead of acting itself.

Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
