How to opt out of EAB
- 1
Open EAB's California privacy notice
It's at eab.com/privacy-policy-2/ccpa-resident-notice. The notice says you may opt out of the sale of your personal information by completing the CCP Data Request Form linked there.
- 2
Fill in the CCP Data Request Form
Pick the right you want to use. Opting out of sale is the narrowest request; deletion and limiting sensitive information are covered in the "Your Rights and Choices" section of the main policy.
- 3
Stop the targeted ads separately
EAB's policy points to aboutads.info/choices, networkadvertising.org/choices and preferences-mgr.truste.com for opting out of interest-based advertising. The data request form doesn't switch those off.
- 4
Email legal@eab.com if the form won't do
That's the privacy contact in EAB's California registry entry. Name the site or product you used.
Watch out for
- EAB's policy covers more than eab.com: it names Seramount and Cappex.com, LLC, which runs Appily, so you may have a record under a brand you've never heard of.
- In California EAB complied in whole with 3 of the 16 deletion requests it logged for 2024, in part with 12, and denied 1.
- Advertising opt-outs live on third-party pages and work per browser.

These are run by the same company. Removing yourself from EAB doesn't remove you from them, so check each one.
Does it come back?
EAB doesn't publish a relisting policy. Its policy says it collects information when you register on its sites or use its products, so signing up again can put you back in.
Your rights
EAB is registered as a data broker in California. The policy says that depending on your state you may be able to limit or withdraw consent for sensitive personal information, such as gender identity and health information such as disabilities.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
