How to opt out of Venntel
- 1
Find your advertising ID
Look up your device's Mobile Advertiser ID in your phone's advertising or privacy settings.
- 2
Open Venntel's opt-out form
Go to venntel.com/opt-out, which its California filing names as the Opt-Out and Do Not Sell form.
- 3
Enter the ID and submit
Venntel says that on receipt it removes the data in its data sets tied to that Mobile Advertiser ID.
- 4
Repeat for each device
Each phone or tablet has its own ID, so each needs its own request. For questions, email privacy@venntel.com or call 877-717-9985.
Watch out for
- The opt-out is per device ID. If you reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings, the new ID isn't covered and you must opt out again.
- Venntel's California filing says it sells data to the federal government and to state governments.
Does it come back?
Venntel states the opt-out covers one advertising ID only, so a reset or a new device creates an ID that isn't covered.
Your rights
Venntel is registered as a data broker in California. Its filing reports 194 deletion requests in 2024, all complied with, answered in 8 to 11 days.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
