How to remove yourself from CITYDATA
Also known as CityData.AI, CityData Inc.
CityData.AI collects mobile location data. It doesn't store names or emails, so a deletion request needs your phone's advertising ID (IDFA on iPhone, ADID on Android). Email privacy@citydata.ai. CityData aims to reply within 45 days and says it may need up to 90.

How to opt out of CITYDATA
- 1
Find your advertising ID
On Android, open Settings, then Privacy, Other privacy settings and Ads. Your advertising ID shows at the bottom. On iPhone the IDFA isn't shown in Settings, so you need an app that displays it.
- 2
Email your request
Write to privacy@citydata.ai with your advertising ID and say you want your Device Data deleted. CityData's privacy policy says it can't find you without it.
- 3
Use the website link for sale opt-outs
The policy says you can opt out of sale by selecting "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" on its website.
- 4
Stop collection at the source
The policy says CityData doesn't collect Device Data if you turn off location sharing or ad tracking on your device.
Watch out for
- CityData says it can only act on records tied to the advertising ID you send. A reset ID or a second phone is a different record.
- The policy lists exceptions to deletion, such as security protection or legal retention, so a deletion isn't guaranteed.
- CityData.AI isn't the same company as City-Data.com.
Does it come back?
CityData doesn't publish a relisting policy. Because records are tied to your advertising ID, a new ID starts a new record unless you also turn off ad tracking.
Your rights
California residents have deletion and opt-out rights under the CCPA, which CityData's privacy policy describes.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
