How to opt out of PRBC
- 1
Open the Consumer Affairs page
Go to microbilt.com/consumer-affairs. It carries the opt-out form and the consumer request forms.
- 2
Download the opt-out form
The form lets you choose among preapproved or prescreened credit and insurance offers, sharing credit information with affiliates, and direct or third-party marketing lists.
- 3
Complete and sign it
MicroBilt says a request can be delayed if you don't give enough information to verify your identity, pick an option or sign your name.
- 4
Mail it to Consumer Affairs
Send the form to the Consumer Affairs Department at the address on the page. MicroBilt says you won't be charged a fee.
- 5
Call if you have questions
The page lists 888-222-7621 and 800-884-4747 (option 5), Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
Watch out for
- The form is a convenience. MicroBilt's wording says you don't have to use it if you give enough information to verify your identity and process the opt-out.
- The opt-out covers marketing and sharing choices. It isn't a request to erase a credit file, which has its own request and dispute forms on the same page.
- State-specific consumer rights documents are posted on the same page.

Your rights
MicroBilt posts separate consumer rights documents for some states, such as Michigan and Pennsylvania, on its Consumer Affairs page.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
