How to remove yourself from Magnite
Also known as Magnite Inc
Magnite is an advertising platform, so its opt-out is a cookie on each browser and device rather than a record removed from a database. Use its User Choice Portal, or send a browser signal such as Global Privacy Control. Access and deletion requests need your device identifiers.

How to opt out of Magnite
- 1
Open the User Choice Portal
Go to Magnite's User Choice Portal from the browser you want to opt out.
- 2
Tick the box and confirm
Check the opt-out box and click OK. Magnite sets a cookie that records your choice.
- 3
Repeat on every device
Opt-outs apply to one browser on one device. A phone, a laptop and a second browser each need their own. Clearing cookies undoes it.
- 4
Turn on a privacy signal
Magnite also reads legally recognized preference signals such as Global Privacy Control, so turning one on in your browser covers visits to its clients' sites.
- 5
Ask for access or deletion
For a request to access, correct or delete, Magnite needs your digital identifiers plus a screenshot of an identifier or details about your device or browsing. Contact privacy@magnite.com.
Watch out for
- The opt-out stops targeted advertising, sales and sharing. It isn't a deletion.
- Magnite works for publishers and advertisers, so the sites you visit also have their own privacy policies and opt-outs.
Does it come back?
The opt-out lives in a cookie, so deleting cookies or changing browser or device brings the tracking back until you opt out again.
Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
Canada: PIPEDA. You can withdraw your consent to a company using your personal information and ask it to correct what it holds. If it doesn't respond, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
United Kingdom: UK GDPR. You can ask any company to erase your personal data and to stop using it for direct marketing. It has one month to respond. If it doesn't, you can complain to the ICO.
European Union: GDPR. You have the right to have your personal data erased and to object to its use for direct marketing. Companies must respond within one month, and you can complain to your national data protection authority if they don't.
Australia: Privacy Act. You can tell a company to stop using your information for direct marketing and ask it to correct what it holds. If it doesn't act, you can complain to the OAIC.
