How to remove yourself from HealthWise Data

Watch out for
- If someone files for you, HealthWise requires an authorization signed by you.
- The cookie banner on healthwisedata.com is a separate setting from the privacy request: rejecting cookies doesn't remove a record.

Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

Frequently asked
Is HealthWise Data a people-search site?
No. It describes itself as an AI-powered consumer healthcare data company, so there is no public profile to look up. The request form is how you ask it to act on data it holds about you.
I don't live in one of the listed states. Can I still ask?
The page ties its rights to residents of the states it names. You can still email privacy@healthwisedata.com and ask, but HealthWise doesn't say it will act.
Can a lawyer or relative submit it for me?
Yes, an authorized agent can, with an authorization signed by you.
