Repeat on each browser and device
Connexity says opt-outs are stored per device and browser, and clearing cookies may clear them.
Watch out for
- Opting out doesn't stop all ads. Connexity says it can still serve non-targeted ads.
- Clearing cookies can remove the opt-out, and a different browser or device starts from scratch.
- Access and deletion requests are separate from the opt-out.

Your rights
Connexity says state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA and the Colorado, Nevada and Virginia laws give residents a right to opt out of sale or sharing. It says it doesn't charge a fee for a verifiable request unless it's excessive, and it won't discriminate against you for using these rights.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
United Kingdom: UK GDPR. You can ask any company to erase your personal data and to stop using it for direct marketing. It has one month to respond. If it doesn't, you can complain to the ICO.
European Union: GDPR. You have the right to have your personal data erased and to object to its use for direct marketing. Companies must respond within one month, and you can complain to your national data protection authority if they don't.
