How to opt out of Azira

  1. 1

    Open Azira's privacy policy

Go to azira.com/privacy-policy and follow the link to the Opt-Out & Data Rights Form.

  2. 2

    Pick the request type

The policy lists access, deletion, correction and opt-out rights. Choose the one you want, and check the type before you send, since you may want both an opt-out and a deletion.

  3. 3

Submit and watch for a verification email

Azira may ask for details to match your request to its records. If nothing arrives, check spam, then write to privacy@azira.com.

Watch out for

  • The form is hosted by a privacy-request provider. Browser extensions or a VPN can stop it loading, so retry without them if it shows a blank page.

What Azira holds about you

  • Full name and aliases
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Age and date of birth
  • Social media profiles

What Azira is known to collect, not a check of your listing.

Does it come back?

Azira doesn't publish a relisting policy. Its location data comes from phone apps, so new data can arrive after a request.

Your rights

California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.

California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.

Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
