How to opt out of PeopleWin
- 1
Find your PeopleWin listing
Search your name on peoplewin.com and open the listing that is you. Copy its URL from the address bar.
- 2
Open Spokeo's opt-out form
Go to spokeo.com/optout. PeopleWin is run by Spokeo, Inc., and Spokeo's California filing says an opt-out at that address covers its public sites except ThatsThem.com.
- 3
Paste the URL and enter your email
Paste the listing URL into the form and enter an email address. Spokeo's help center says the address is used to verify the request.
- 4
Click the confirmation link
Open the email from Spokeo and click the link. Spokeo's instructions for its own listings say nothing is removed until you do.
- 5
Repeat for any other listing
If you appear under more than one listing, submit each URL as its own request.
Watch out for
- Opting out of PeopleWin goes through Spokeo, so you'll be dealing with Spokeo's form and Spokeo's email, not a PeopleWin one.
- ThatsThem.com is the exception: Spokeo's filing says it has its own opt-out at thatsthem.com/optout.
- Spokeo's California filing reports an average response time of 1 day to opt-out requests.

Sister sites
These are run by the same company. Removing yourself from PeopleWin doesn't remove you from them, so check each one.
Does it come back?
PeopleWin doesn't publish a relisting policy. Search your name again every few months, since new public records can produce a new listing.
Your rights
Spokeo, Inc. is registered as a data broker in California, which gives California residents the right to ask it to delete and to stop the sale of their data.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
