How to opt out of Minerva
- 1
Open Minerva's privacy request page
Go to preferences.minerva.io. Minerva BI Inc gives it in its California registry entry as the page for consumer privacy rights.
- 2
Pick the request that fits
Minerva's registry filing reports handling requests to delete, requests to know, requests to opt out of sale or sharing, and requests to limit use of sensitive information. Choose deletion if you want your record gone, or the opt-out if you only want the sale to stop.
- 3
Submit it and keep the confirmation
Save any confirmation or reference number the page gives you, so you can follow up.
- 4
Email or call if the page doesn't work
The registry entry lists privacy@minerva.io as the primary contact and 646-535-3532 as the phone number.
Watch out for
- Minerva reports a median of 12 days to respond to deletion requests in 2024 (mean 13) and 7 days for opt-outs of sale or sharing (mean 8). That is the company's own reporting.
- Minerva sells data to marketers rather than running a public search page, so you won't find a listing to check. Keep your confirmation instead.
Does it come back?
Minerva doesn't publish a relisting policy. File the request again if you start getting targeted marketing from the same source.
Your rights
Minerva is on the California data broker registry, so California residents can also use the Delete Act's DROP tool at privacy.ca.gov/drop.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
