How to opt out of Dun & Bradstreet

  1. 1

    Open D&B's opt-out case page

Go to support.dnb.com/?PROD=CCPARightToOptOut. The page is headed "D&B Support for Data Subject Rights: Right To Opt Out". One button: Submit Case.

  2. 2

    Submit the case

Click it and fill in the request. D&B's transparency page says you can exercise your rights there, in your personal as well as your professional capacity, so say which one you mean.

  3. 3

Try the other routes for deletion or access

The California registry entry lists a rights portal on submit-irm.trustarc.eu and the email privacyofficer@dnb.com. Use them if the opt-out case doesn't fit what you're asking for.

  4. 4

Contact Eyeota and NetWise on their own

D&B's transparency page lists both as registered data brokers: Eyeota Pte. Ltd in California, and NetWise Data, LLC in California and Vermont. Nothing on the form page says your request reaches them.

Watch out for

  • D&B's transparency page says it processes data about companies and the people in them, so asking about yourself doesn't change what it holds on the business you work for, and a contact record tied to that business may need its own request.
  • Eyeota and NetWise are registered in their own right. Two more requests.

Sister sites

These are run by the same company. Removing yourself from Dun & Bradstreet doesn't remove you from them, so check each one.

Does it come back?

Dun & Bradstreet doesn't publish a relisting policy. Check again after a job change.

Your rights

D&B is registered as a data broker in California and Oregon, and in Vermont too. Texas treats it as one as well. California residents can also use the state's DROP tool.
