How to opt out of Statara

  1. 1

    Open the consumer privacy page

Go to statara.com/consumerprivacy and submit your request there.

  2. 2

    Email if you prefer

privacy@statara.com is the address in Statara's registry entry. The company's privacy policy has the full terms.

  3. 3

    Name what you want deleted

State your full name and the email address Statara would hold. Its registry filing reports a 3-day response to deletion requests.

Watch out for

  • Statara reported no opt-out-of-sale or know requests in its filing, so deletion is the request people actually use. Ask for deletion explicitly.

Your rights

California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.

California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.

Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
