How to remove yourself from Clearbit

Clearbit is HubSpot's B2B data brand, and it holds business contact details such as your name, work email and job title. Its own CCPA page sends privacy requests to preferences.clearbit.com, where you pick your country and state first.

How to opt out of Clearbit

  1. 1

    Open the privacy request form

Go to preferences.clearbit.com, the address Clearbit's CCPA page gives for its Privacy Request form.

  2. 2

    Choose your country and state

Clearbit asks for both before it shows any options, so the choices you get match the privacy law where you live.

  3. 3

    Pick the request that fits

Choose the option that matches what you want, such as access to the data or removal of it, and submit it with the email address Clearbit is likely to hold for you: the work address is the one that usually appears in a B2B database.

  4. 4

Repeat for every address you use

Clearbit's policy says it builds profiles from public sources, data brokers and customers, so a personal and a work email can sit in separate records.

Watch out for

  • Clearbit holds business profiles, not a people-search page, so there is no listing URL to paste; the request goes by name and email.
  • Clearbit is part of HubSpot, and the Clearbit privacy policy applies only to Clearbit's own products, not to other HubSpot sites.
  • Companies that bought Clearbit data keep their own copies. Their privacy policies cover how they use it.

What Clearbit holds about you

  • Full name and aliases
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Employment and education
  • Social media profiles

What Clearbit is known to collect, not a check of your listing.

Does it come back?

Clearbit doesn't publish a relisting policy. Its policy says its indexers keep collecting from public sources and data partners, so a new job or a new work email can create a fresh record.
