How to opt out of Converge

  1. 1

    Read the privacy page

Open convergemarketing.com/privacy. Converge lists it with California as the place that explains how to use your privacy rights.

  2. 2

    Use Your Privacy Choices

The footer of the Converge site carries a Your Privacy Choices link.

  3. 3

Or write to the privacy address

Email privacy@convergemarketing.com with your name and the email address you want removed, and say which right you're using, such as deletion.

Watch out for

  • Converge is an agency, so the data it holds is campaign and audience data rather than a public profile page. Removal covers its own records, not those of clients it ran campaigns for.
  • The general contact address on the homepage is different from the privacy address in the California registry.

Does it come back?

Converge doesn't publish a relisting policy.

Your rights

Converge appears in California's data broker registry, so California residents can use a deletion request under the CCPA.

California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.

California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.

Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
