How to remove yourself from TICA tenancy database
TICA will remove or change a listing only in set circumstances, such as proof of wrongful use of your identity or false information, or a member who can't verify it. Start by requesting your file in writing by post.
On average, Serus sends about 184 removal requests per person, 89% of them to data brokers, so expect TICA tenancy database to be one of many.

How to opt out of TICA tenancy database
- 1
Request your file
Residential tenancies laws in every state and territory let you access your record, and each says the request must be in writing. Download the request form for your state from the tenants page and post it to TICA, PO Box 120, Concord NSW 2137.
- 2
Allow for the post
TICA says to allow up to 14 business days for a response.
- 3
Match your problem to a removal ground
TICA says it alters or removes a name if proof is offered of wrongful use of identity, or that false information was supplied. It does the same if a member can't verify a listing, or a listing isn't allowed under state law.
- 4
Send originals
TICA doesn't accept photocopies, faxes or emails of legal or official paperwork from tenants. Post the original copies to the same PO Box.
Watch out for
- If TICA investigates and the member doesn't submit evidence, the member has 7 days to produce the file before the listing can come off.
- My TICA File costs $55 including GST. TICA says it comes with a free initial full report and 12 months of email alerts whenever your details are searched.
