How to remove yourself from Lookify
Also known as Lookify.io
Use Lookify's opt-out tool at lookify.io/opt-out, or email support@lookify.io. Lookify says the tool removes your public listing on Lookify only, not the phone books or records it was built from. The company charges no fee for privacy requests.

How to opt out of Lookify
- 1
Open the opt-out tool
Go to lookify.io/opt-out. Lookify's privacy policy names this page as the way to get a public listing taken down, including a listing about someone under 18.
- 2
Submit the request
Follow the form on that page. If you'd rather not use it, the California privacy statement also accepts requests by email to support@lookify.io.
- 3
Expect a verification step
Lookify says it may ask for more information to confirm you are who you say you are, and it can't act on a request it can't verify.
- 4
Search for yourself again
A few days later, look yourself up on lookify.io to check the listing is gone. Lookify reported a median of 1 day to respond to opt-out and delete requests in 2024.

Covered under New Jersey's Daniels Law?
Judges and their family members can use the Privacy Rights Request Form and pick "NJ Covered Persons Redaction/Non-Disclosure Request (Daniels Law)" from the dropdown.
Watch out for
- The opt-out only touches Lookify. The policy says it cannot remove information from the third-party sources it draws on, such as phone books, social networks or government records.
- If Lookify can't verify you, a deletion request is handled as an opt-out of sale instead, so the record may not be deleted outright.
- Lookify denied 157 of 2,530 deletion requests in 2024, according to its California registry filing.

What Lookify is known to collect, not a check of your listing.
Does it come back?
Lookify doesn't publish a relisting policy. Because it rebuilds listings from public sources, search for your name again every few months and repeat the request if you reappear.
Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

Frequently asked
Is the Lookify opt-out free?
Lookify's California statement says it doesn't charge a fee for requests unless one is excessive, repetitive or manifestly unfounded.
How long does Lookify take to remove a listing?
Lookify doesn't state a removal window. Its 2025 figures show a mean of 3 days and a median of 1 day to respond to delete and opt-out requests.
Can I delete my Lookify account separately?
Yes. Email support@lookify.io with "Account Deletion Request" in the subject and the address on the account. Lookify aims to finish within 10 business days. Deleting the account doesn't remove a public listing.
