How to opt out of CaliforniaBrokers.org
- 1
Decide whether you want to be delisted
CaliforniaBrokers.org says it discourages delisting, because a removed record can no longer be used to verify your license on that site. Your license stays on the official licensing board's records either way.
- 2
Find your record and copy its ID
Search your name on californiabrokers.org and open your listing. The record ID is shown at the bottom right of the license details block.
- 3
Email the removal address
Write to removals@licensedata.org, say you want your record removed, and include the record ID. The same address handles removals for the related directories run by the same operator, so send one email per record.
- 4
Check the listing later
Search your name again after a few days. If the record is still live, reply to your own email with the record ID again.
Watch out for
- The record ID is required: the about page says the removal email must include it, so an email with only your name can't be matched to a record.
- CaliforniaBrokers.org is one of several unaffiliated-looking directories from the same operator, and a removal on one site doesn't remove you from the others.
- The site doesn't publish a privacy policy page, so the about page and the removal email are the only route.

Does it come back?
CaliforniaBrokers.org doesn't publish a relisting policy. The record comes from public license data, so check your name on the site every few months.
Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

Frequently asked
Is CaliforniaBrokers.org the official licensing board?
No. It's a private directory that republishes license records. The official record stays with the licensing board and a removal here doesn't change it.
What do I need to include in the removal email?
The record ID from the bottom right of the license block on your listing, sent to removals@licensedata.org.
Does removing my record from CaliforniaBrokers.org remove it from the other directories?
No. The sister directories use the same removal address, but each record has its own ID, so send a request for each one.
Why does the site discourage delisting?
Its about page says delisting prevents others from verifying your license on the site.
