How to opt out of FMAData
- 1
Choose web or mail
The request page offers two routes: a web form on the page, or a printable Privacy Request Form you send to the Privacy Desk by post. The web form is quicker.
- 2
Say what you're asking for
The page covers three requests: opting out of the resale of your personal information, getting a copy of what FMAData holds, and deleting it. Pick the one you want, or send all three.
- 3
Submit it
Send the web form from fmadata.com/opt-out-requests/new. If you chose mail, print the form from the same page, fill it in and post it.
- 4
Use the printable form if someone files for you
An authorized representative has to use the printable form and attach a signed representation agreement or power of attorney. The page also points people with disabilities to the printable form.
- 5
Watch for a reply
The page gives no processing time, so note the date you sent it. If nothing arrives after a few weeks, send the request again.
Watch out for
- FMAData runs MovingLeads (movingleads.com) and customers.fmadata.com under the same privacy policy, so a request may not stop data used on those sites unless the reply says it does.
- The web form is the only online route. FMAData doesn't list a privacy email address on its request page.
- Deletion rights depend on where you live: the page says you may have these rights "depending on your location".

Does it come back?
FMAData doesn't publish a relisting policy. Its privacy policy says it collects property public record data, so a record can reappear from that source; send the request again if you see your details back.
Your rights
The request page says that depending on your location you may be able to opt out of resale, ask for disclosure of your personal information and ask for deletion. The Privacy Policy at fmadata.com/privacy-policy has the details.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
