How to opt out of pharosIQ
- 1
Open the privacy rights request form
It lives at pharosiq.com/legal/privacy-rights-request.
- 2
Choose your request and describe it
The form lets you make requests about how pharosIQ uses your personal information. Say what you want: removal from its marketing data, deletion, or both.
- 3
Keep the sensitive details out
pharosIQ asks you not to give it financial information such as card or bank details, or identifiers such as a social security number. It may ask for extra information to check who you are, and for proof if an agent files for you.
- 4
Wait for the reply
pharosIQ says it aims to respond as soon as practicable and within the legal timeframes, and that it will tell you if it needs longer.
Watch out for
- California residents get a disclosure that usually covers only the 12 months before the request.
- An agent can file for you, but pharosIQ may ask the agent to prove they're allowed to.
Does it come back?
pharosIQ doesn't publish a relisting policy.
Your rights
The form cites GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, which matters if you're in the UK or EU as well as California. pharosIQ has offices in Philadelphia and Belfast.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
United Kingdom: UK GDPR. You can ask any company to erase your personal data and to stop using it for direct marketing. It has one month to respond. If it doesn't, you can complain to the ICO.
European Union: GDPR. You have the right to have your personal data erased and to object to its use for direct marketing. Companies must respond within one month, and you can complain to your national data protection authority if they don't.
