How to remove yourself from FastPeopleSearch.io

FastPeopleSearch.io is not FastPeopleSearch.com, so opting out of one does nothing for the other. Use the Remove My Info form on the .io contact page. The FAQ says your information is deleted within 24 hours of the site confirming your request.

How to opt out of FastPeopleSearch.io

  1. 1

    Find your record

Search your name on fastpeoplesearch.io and copy your profile URL.

  2. 2

Use the Remove My Info form

It's on the contact page. The FAQ also names an opt-out page and an email to customer support, if the form gives you trouble.

  3. 3

    Wait a day

The FAQ promises reasonable steps to delete the information from the site's server within 24 hours after it confirms the request. Confirmation is the part you wait for.

  4. 4

    Search again

Look yourself up the next day.

Watch out for

  • Separate site, separate opt-out.
  • Property details on the address lookup pages come off through customer support, by asking for deletion.
  • The company itself says similar information may still appear on other search sites it doesn't control, so removal here is not removal everywhere.

What FastPeopleSearch.io holds about you

  • Full name and aliases
  • Current address
  • Address history
  • Property records

What FastPeopleSearch.io is known to collect, not a check of your listing.

Does it come back?

The site says it tells its data partners not to return removed records. It also suggests checking periodically for newly published information about you, so look again after a month.

Your rights

California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.

California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.

Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
