How to opt out of Enigma
- 1
Decide what you're asking for
Enigma's privacy policy lists access, correction and deletion requests, and a separate opt-out of direct marketing. Pick deletion if you want your business contact details gone.
- 2
Email privacy@enigma.com
Say you're asking Enigma to delete the personal information it holds about you, and give your name and the business email address or company it would have listed you under. If you live in California, say so and mention the California Consumer Privacy Act.
- 3
Or write to the legal team
The policy also accepts requests by post to Enigma Technologies, Inc., 217 Centre Street, Suite 124, New York, NY 10013, ATTN: Legal.
- 4
Unsubscribe from marketing emails if you get them
Every Enigma marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Emailing the privacy address with your instructions works as well.
- 5
Keep the reply
Enigma doesn't publish a confirmation step, so save whatever it sends back. If a month passes with no answer, send a short follow-up quoting your first message.
Watch out for
- Enigma has no web form. Its do-not-sell page points back to the email address, so your request is only as good as the details you put in the message.
- The policy says Enigma may keep sending transactional or service emails after you opt out of marketing.
- Opting out of Enigma doesn't touch the other companies that sell the same business contact data.

Does it come back?
Enigma doesn't publish a relisting policy. Its data comes from business sources, so search for your name and company every few months and send a new request if you reappear.
Your rights
Enigma is registered as a data broker in California, which gives California residents the right to delete and to opt out of sale. In its 2024 filing it reports 9 deletion requests, all fulfilled, with a mean response of 15 days and a median of 12. The filing also says it holds no government ID numbers, precise location or biometric data.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
