How to opt out of Fetcher
- 1
Open the opt-out page
Go to app.fetcher.ai/opt-out. Fetcher's privacy policy sends California residents here to exercise their opt-out right.
- 2
Submit the request
Fill in what the page asks for and send it.
- 3
Email support if you want your data erased, not just an opt-out
Fetcher's help center says erasure requests go to support@fetcher.ai. Give the name and email address a recruiter would have used to contact you, so the team can find your profile.
- 4
Stop the recruiter emails too
If a recruiter mailed you through Fetcher, the help center says unsubscribing stops further messages from that tool.
Watch out for
- The opt-out page is a web app, so it only works in a normal browser with JavaScript on.
- Fetcher's help center describes a 72-hour deletion window under its GDPR page, while the privacy policy says it aims to answer California opt-outs within 14 days. Expect the longer one.
- Your data may be held by the recruiting company that used Fetcher as well. That copy is theirs, and you have to ask them separately.

- Email addresses
- Employment and education
- Social media profiles

Does it come back?
Fetcher doesn't publish a relisting policy. Recruiting tools rebuild profiles from public sources, so search for yourself again after a few months.
Your rights
Fetcher's privacy policy lists rights to access, correct, object, restrict and erase. California residents get the opt-out page.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
