How to opt out of LionShare
- 1
Open the opt-out form
Go to LionShare's opt-out page. Its privacy policy points removal requests there.
- 2
Enter your name and address
First name, last name, street address, city, state and zip are all required. Use the address as it would appear on mail sent to you, because the form has to match you to a record.
- 3
Add an email if you want a reply
The email field is optional.
- 4
Submit and keep a screenshot
LionShare doesn't publish a processing time on the pages that show, so note the date. If you also use an old address, submit the form again for it.
Watch out for
- The form matches on name plus street address, so a former address or a spelling variant can be a separate record that needs its own request.
- LionShare's privacy policy says it doesn't sell personal information to outside parties without advance notice, yet it is on the California data broker registry, so ask in writing if you want to know what it has.
- If the form doesn't work, LionShare's registry entry lists ap@lionsharemarketing.com and 913-631-8400.

Does it come back?

Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
