How to remove yourself from BeenVerified
Find your record in BeenVerified's opt-out search, then confirm the request from the email they send you. BeenVerified says the removal usually shows up within 24 hours of its confirmation email. It's free, and you don't need an account.

How to opt out of BeenVerified
- 1
Open the opt-out search
Open the opt-out search. BeenVerified's state registry filings point to a second address, /svc/optout/search/comprehensive_optouts. Either is a fine starting point.
- 2
Select your record
Search for yourself and select the record that matches you. Check the details carefully before you choose, because the online tool removes only one record per person.
- 3
Enter your email address
BeenVerified says it uses this address only to verify the request and won't sell it.
- 4
Click the verification link
Open the verification email and click the link. Nothing happens until you do.
- 5
Wait for the confirmation
Wait for a second email saying the record has been opted out.
- 6
Check again a day later
About a day later, search your name again in the opt-out search. If the record still shows, clear your browser history first; BeenVerified says a cached page can make an old result linger.
Watch out for
- The online tool removes only one record per person, which BeenVerified says is there to prevent fraud.
- If you have more than one record, you have to email privacy@beenverified.com to remove the rest, and a different spelling or an old address can each produce a separate record.
- Your name may still show up in BeenVerified's other searches, such as a reverse phone or address lookup, after a people-search opt-out.
- If you live outside the US, email privacy@beenverified.com with your full name and the information you want removed instead of using the form.

Does it come back?
It can. BeenVerified says its database is "updated on at least a monthly basis", and when a data partner sends in a record that doesn't match the one you opted out (a new address, a different spelling), it can become a fresh listing. Email privacy@beenverified.com to remove that one too, and search yourself again every 2 to 3 months and soon after you move.
Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.

Frequently asked
Is BeenVerified's opt-out really free?
Yes. BeenVerified's help center says you don't have to be a member and never have to pay to remove your own record.
Why is my information still on BeenVerified after I opted out?
Two common reasons: you have a second record (the online tool removes one), or new data created a separate listing. Email privacy@beenverified.com with the details.
Can I opt out of BeenVerified by phone?
BeenVerified's registry filings list 866-885-6480 for privacy requests, and privacy@beenverified.com by email. The online form is the route BeenVerified's help center describes.
Does opting out of BeenVerified remove me from Google?
Not directly. It removes the record from BeenVerified's own people-search results. Search engines drop the old page once they recrawl it, which can take a while.
