How to remove yourself from Zeta Global
Zeta Global keeps email-based and cookie-based data apart, so there are two opt-outs. Its Privacy Choices page has a request for data tied to your email and a separate Zeta rights request for cookie data. California residents can also call 1-866-709-0840.

How to opt out of Zeta Global
- 1
Open the Zeta privacy choices page
- 2
Request for your email address
Submit the request there to stop sale or sharing of data tied to your email, or to delete or correct it.
- 3
Request for cookie data
Use Zeta's separate rights request page for data tied to Zeta cookies. Zeta says you need both to cover everything.
- 4
Confirm by email
Zeta's California filing says many 2024 requests weren't completed because the email verification wasn't finished, so answer any verification email.
Watch out for
- Two separate requests are needed: one for email-based data, one for cookie-based data.
- Where Zeta processes data for a client, it is a processor and your access request usually goes to that client, though deletion and opt-out requests are routinely sent to Zeta.
- Unconfirmed email verification stops a request: Zeta's filing reports 110,100 denied of 137,625 deletion requests in 2024, and says many weren't completed because the verification email wasn't answered.
Does it come back?
Zeta doesn't publish a relisting policy. Cookie data resets as you browse, so repeat the cookie request after clearing cookies or switching devices.
Your rights
Zeta is registered as a data broker in California. Its filing reports about 62 days to respond to deletion requests in 2024.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
