Watch for the reply
Unearth says it will confirm receipt and explain what to expect, including any steps to verify your identity. Answer that message so the request isn't left half done.
Watch out for
- Unearth also runs under the name Atlas Influence Targeting (atlasinfluence.com). Mention both names in your request.
- Opting out of Unearth's data sale doesn't stop ads from the advertising networks it works with. The policy points to the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) and Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) for web ad opt-outs.

Does it come back?
Unearth's California registry filing says it adds every requester to a hashed opt-out list, even if it holds no record of them, so it doesn't collect their data again. The policy doesn't describe relisting beyond that.
Your rights
The privacy policy extends rights to California, Virginia and Texas residents. Unearth is registered as a data broker in California.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
