How to opt out of Datonics
- 1
Open Your Privacy Choices
- 2
Pick the identifier to opt out
Datonics keys its data to browser cookies, mobile advertising IDs and hashed email addresses, and each is handled separately.
- 3
Opt out your browser
This sets a Datonics opt-out cookie on that browser.
- 4
Opt out your phone
Enter your device's advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, AAID/GAID on Android).
- 5
Opt out your email address
Enter each email address you want covered. The opt-out applies only to the address you enter.
Watch out for
- The browser opt-out lives in a cookie. Clearing cookies, switching browsers or using a new device means opting out again.
- If your phone generates a new advertising ID, for example after a settings reset, the earlier opt-out no longer applies.
- Datonics says it treats Global Privacy Control and other opt-out preference signals as an opt-out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising for residents of covered states.

Does it come back?
For browsers and phones, Datonics says an opt-out stops working when the cookie or advertising ID changes, so you have to renew it.
Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
