How to opt out of Melissa
- 1
Open the consumer privacy form
Go to apps.melissa.com/user/consumerprivacy.aspx and pick a request type: Delete / Opt-out, Right to Know, or Right to Correct.
- 2
Choose Delete / Opt-out
That one covers deleting your personal information, opting out of sale or sharing, opting out of targeted ads and profiling, and limiting use of sensitive personal information. Tick whichever apply.
- 3
Fill in who you are
Required: current email, first and last name, address line 1, city, ZIP and state. Address line 2, phone and mobile are optional.
- 4
Pass the check and get the code
Tick the "I'm not a robot" box and click Send Confirmation Code.
- 5
Enter the code
The request is only submitted after you enter the one-time code from your email.
Watch out for
- Nothing is submitted until the confirmation code is entered.
- The form states no response deadline.
- Right to Correct needs supporting documents, though name and address are usually enough to match you and ID is generally not required.
- If you have multiple records, Melissa lists 1-800-800-6245 ext 4 as the phone route.
