How to remove yourself from Criteo
Criteo is an ad-tech company, not a people-search site. You turn off its ad personalisation on its privacy page, reset your phone's advertising ID, or send a rights request to dpo@criteo.com. It says ads stop within 24 hours of a mobile opt-out.

How to opt out of Criteo
- 1
Turn off Criteo ad personalisation in your browser
Go to Criteo's browser opt-out page and turn off ad personalisation. Criteo says it will then no longer show you ads based on your interests.
- 2
Opt out on each browser and device
A browser opt-out is tied to that browser. Repeat it on every browser and device. It takes a minute.
- 3
Set your phone's ad preferences
On Android, reset the advertising ID and turn on the "Opt-out of interest-based ads" setting. On iOS, turn on Limited Ad Tracking. Criteo says it will stop showing ads as soon as possible and at the latest after 24 hours.
- 4
Use wider opt-out tools
For other ad companies, Criteo points US residents to the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance, and EU residents to YourOnlineChoices (EDAA).
- 5
Send a rights request if you want your data deleted
US residents can ask Criteo to stop selling or sharing personal information, and to know, delete or correct it. In the EU you can object to processing through Criteo's contact form or write to dpo@criteo.com.
Watch out for
- Criteo says it keeps data for 13 months from collection and processes pseudonymized technical information, not direct identifiers such as your name or email.
- Withdrawing consent deactivates Criteo's services for you. You'll see fewer personalised ads, not fewer ads.
- Mobile apps that use a webview may need a separate consent withdrawal, according to Criteo.

Does it come back?
Clearing cookies can remove a browser-based opt-out, so check that it's still set after you clear your browser data.
