How to opt out of InfoTracer
- 1
Open the opt-out page
Go to infotracer.com/optout.
- 2
Find your records
Enter your first and last name plus your state and city so the site can find matching records.
- 3
Select the records to remove
InfoTracer says the form removes only the specific records you select.
- 4
Repeat for each record
Each additional record has to be submitted separately.
- 5
Watch for the confirmation
InfoTracer's FAQ says you get an email once your information is removed. Its Do Not Sell page says to write to privacy@infotracer.com if nothing arrives in 15 days.
Watch out for
- Removal applies only to InfoTracer's own database.
- The older mail or fax form asks for proof of ID and gives a processing time of upwards of 30 days. It says it doesn't process removals by email or phone, which conflicts with the newer page's privacy email.
- Current or former judges, prosecutors and law enforcement staff, and their families, can use a separate covered-person request under the Daniel Anderl Act.

Your rights
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people.
