Sign in to your Walmart account
Sign in on Walmart.com or in the app. Walmart's help center says you can edit your name, phone number, email and shipping address from your account.

Edit your phone number
Replace the old number with the one you want on file. Walmart now requires a valid phone number for every new and existing account, so the field can't stay empty.

Verify the new number
After you change the number, Walmart asks you to verify the mobile number on the account before checkout. A one-time passcode is sent to the email address Walmart has on file.
Watch out for
- You can't leave the account without a phone number. Replacing it or deleting the account are the two options.
- If you can't reach the email address on the account, Walmart says you need to set up a new account.
- If you create a new account with the same number, the number is removed from any other account that has it.
- Redeem any Walmart Cash before closing the account. Walmart's terms say unredeemed balances are vacated.
- Deleting the account doesn't end a Walmart+ membership. That is managed separately.

Delete the account instead
On Walmart.com, sign in, scroll to the bottom of the homepage and select Delete Account on the blue ribbon. In the app, sign in, open Account, scroll to the bottom and select Delete Account.
What stays out there
Changing the number on your Walmart account only changes what Walmart holds. Your old number can still sit in marketing lists, caller-ID databases and on people-search sites that tie it to your name and address.
