Step by step
- 1
Sign out of your Samsung devices
Deleting the account doesn't sign it out of your phone or tablet. Sign out on each device first. Once the account is gone you can no longer use it to reset or erase those devices.
- 2
Back up what you want to keep
Deletion removes your Samsung purchase history, subscriptions, uploads and profile information. Samsung says none of it can be recovered.
- 3
Sign in at account.samsung.com
Go to the Samsung account website and sign in with the account you want to delete.
- 4
Open Profile, then Samsung account settings
Select Profile, then Samsung account settings. Wording can differ a little between countries and app versions.
- 5
Select Delete account
Read the list of what gets deleted, agree to the changes and select Delete.
- 6
Enter your password and confirm
Enter your password, then select Confirm. The account is now deleted.
Watch out for
- Deleting is permanent. Removing the account from a phone is temporary and does not delete anything.
- If you're a Family organizer, delete the child accounts first.
- If deletion fails, Samsung points to unresolved payment issues. Contact Samsung Support to clear them.
- Deleting the account removes your purchase history and downloaded items from connected Samsung services.
Other ways to do it

Removing the account from a Galaxy phone is not deleting it
Removing a Samsung account from a phone or tablet in the device settings only signs it out of that device. The account itself stays active until you delete it on the website.
What stays out there
Deleting your Samsung account stops Samsung from holding your profile. It does nothing about copies that already live elsewhere: people-search sites that picked up your name and phone number, or old search results that still point to them.
If you're deleting the account because you want less of your life out there, check those places too. Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them. See how it works at serus.ai.
Frequently asked
Is deleting a Samsung account permanent?
Yes. Samsung says your purchase history, subscriptions, uploads and profile information are deleted and can't be recovered.
Does removing my Samsung account from my phone delete it?
No. Removing it from a Galaxy device only signs it out there. You delete the account itself from the Samsung account website.
Why won't my Samsung account delete?
Samsung says a failed deletion can mean unresolved payment issues, and Family organizers must delete child accounts first. Contact Samsung Support if neither applies.
Can I still reset my phone after deleting the account?
Samsung warns that once the account is deleted you can no longer use it to reset or erase your devices, so sign out of them first.
