How to stop casino spam emails
If the sender is a company you recognise, use its unsubscribe link. If it's unknown, don't click anything: block it and report it to your email provider. For repeat offenders, report to the ICO online or on 0303 123 1113.

Step by step
- 1
Decide whether the sender is legitimate
Start here. A casino or betting company you recognise is one thing. An email from an unknown or suspicious source is another, and you shouldn't click any link in it.
- 2
Use the unsubscribe link for senders you recognise
Ofcom says to use the unsubscribe link if the sender is a legitimate company you recognise. Organisations must stop sending you marketing emails when you opt out.
- 3
Ask the company directly if there is no opt-out
The ICO suggests finding the organisation's contact details on its website and asking them to stop.
- 4
Block unknown senders and report them to your email provider
For unknown senders, block the address and report it to your email provider. Use the spam or junk filter in your email service or app.
- 5
Report persistent marketing to the ICO
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office through its online form or on 0303 123 1113. Don't forward the spam emails to the ICO.
Watch out for
- Don't reply to spam. Replying shows your email address is live and you may get more.
- Never download attachments from unsolicited emails. Don't type in personal or financial details either.
- The ICO doesn't respond to complaints individually, so you may not hear back on each report.
- Marketing to a work email address is treated differently. The law doesn't require organisations to stop, though many do after an opt-out.
- Senders must give a valid contact address to opt out and must not hide their identity.
Other ways to do it

Report spam texts
If the casino messages arrive by text, forward them to 7726, the spam reporting service run by Mobile UK.
What stays out there
Unsubscribing stops one sender. It doesn't remove your email address from lists that other companies already hold. Marketing lists, data brokers and people-search sites can hold your email and your name. That is often how the next batch of spam finds you. Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them.
