Watch out for
- Mobile app users can't delete a profile there. Use a desktop browser.
- If you can't reach the email address linked to the profile, Myspace can't give you access, so recover that email first.
- The help article is old, so the menu can look different in the current version of the site.
- Images from your profile can still show in Google search for a while. Myspace has a separate help article on removing them.
Other ways to do it
- 1
If you can't reach a computer
Myspace's help article says it offers a form for people who can't delete the profile themselves from a computer. Check the Myspace Help Center for it.
What stays out there
Deleting your Myspace account stops Myspace from holding a live profile for you. It doesn't reach the copies other companies already have. Old photos and posts that were indexed by search engines or copied elsewhere years ago can still turn up.
People-search sites and data brokers (companies that collect and sell personal info) build their own profiles from public records and scraped pages, and they keep them whether or not you close an account here. Search engines can also keep showing cached results for a while.
Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them. You can run a free scan to see what's out there.
