How to delete your Instacart account
In the app, tap the Account icon, then Settings, Personal information, Delete account. On the website, submit a deletion request, log in, then confirm in the OneTrust email within 7 days. Deletion is permanent, so cancel Instacart+ and wait for open orders first.

Step by step
- 1
Wait for open orders
Let any active orders be delivered or picked up before you start.
- 2
Cancel Instacart+
If you have an Instacart+ membership, cancel it first. Instacart lists this as a requirement before you request deletion.
- 3
Open the Account icon in the app
Tap the Account icon in the upper right corner.
- 4
Go to Personal information
Tap Settings, then Personal information.
- 5
Tap Delete account
Tap Delete account and follow the prompts. Deleting is permanent and you can't use the account afterwards.
Watch out for
- Deletion is permanent. You'll need a new account if you want to use Instacart again.
- On the website, the request isn't finished until you click Confirm in the OneTrust email. It expires after 7 days.
- Deactivating is different. A deactivated account can't order or log in, and only Instacart's Customer Experience team can restore it. You get signed out everywhere, emails stop, Instacart+ is cancelled and family sharing ends.
- Instacart can also deactivate an account itself over fraud or other risk. In that case it emails you from its Financial Risk and Account Security team, and you can appeal after sending what they ask for.

Other ways to do it
- 1
Delete on the website
Use the account deletion request link in Instacart's Help Center article on account deletion, and log in to your Instacart account when asked. Then look for an email from OneTrust with further instructions, and check spam if it's not in your inbox. Select Confirm in that email within 7 days, or you have to submit the request again.
- 2
Account made through Kroger
If your Instacart account was made through Kroger's website or app, Kroger deletes it. Instacart's help page points you to Kroger customer service.
What stays out there
Deleting your Instacart account stops new data at Instacart. Your name, address and phone number may still sit in data broker and people-search listings that never came from Instacart, and delivery addresses can end up in marketing lists.
Check what's listed under your name after you delete. Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them. You can also use the broker opt-out guides yourself.
