Step by step

  1. 1

    Deal with Premium first

If you have a Premium subscription, MyFitnessPal doesn't recommend deleting the account yourself. Contact its support team first so the subscription is handled.

  2. 2

Open the Help menu in the app

On iOS or Android, open the More menu. If your app has no More menu, tap your profile icon instead. Then go to Help.

  3. 3

    Choose Delete Account

Select Delete Account and follow the prompts to confirm.

  4. 4

    Or delete on the website

Log in to MyFitnessPal with the same email and password you use in the app, open Settings, and click Delete Account.

Watch out for

  • Deleting your MyFitnessPal account is permanent and can't be undone.
  • The help centre says it can take up to 72 hours for the email system to remove you from its rotation, so you may still get a message or two.
  • If you log in with Facebook, MyFitnessPal has a separate help page about Facebook deletion, so read it before you remove either account.
  • If the delete option doesn't work for you, MyFitnessPal support can delete the account on your behalf.

What stays out there

Deleting the account removes your profile at MyFitnessPal. It doesn't reach copies that other companies hold, such as advertising and data brokers that may have profiled you from the same email and phone number.

A fitness or food diary is health-adjacent data, and it's the kind of thing you don't want attached to a people-search profile. Serus finds where your details are listed on those sites and removes them. It doesn't delete accounts or change settings inside apps, so the account deletion above is yours to do.
