How to delete your VSCO account

On iPhone: Global Menu > Settings > Delete my account. On the web or Android: sign in at vsco.co, open your Account page, then Privacy & Data > Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and doesn't cancel a membership, so cancel that separately.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Cancel your VSCO membership

Deleting your account does not cancel a membership. Cancel it where you bought it: Apple, Google Play or VSCO.co.

  2. 2

Switch a phone-number login to an email

If you signed up with a phone number, VSCO says to replace it with an email address you can access before deleting, then delete from the web Account page.

  3. 3

Sign in at vsco.co and verify the login

VSCO sends a verification email. You have to confirm the login from that email first, otherwise the delete step shows an error.

  4. 4

Open your Account page and the Privacy & Data tab

Choose Delete Account and enter your password.

  5. 5

Wait for the deletion to finish

It can take several hours to remove your data, and your profile may stay publicly viewable until then.

Watch out for

  • Deleting is permanent. It removes your profile, content, purchases and associated account data. Deactivating is reversible: sign back in to reactivate.
  • A VSCO Workspace account is separate. Deleting your VSCO account doesn't delete it, and the reverse is also true.
  • Your profile can still be visible for several hours after you delete.
  • Phone-number accounts need an email address added before the web route works.

Other ways to do it

  1. 1

    On the iPhone app

Tap the Global Menu icon, select Settings, then Delete my account. Type the VSCO security phrase it shows and select Delete VSCO profile.

  2. 2

    If you can't log in

Contact VSCO Support. VSCO says it may ask for your username, the linked email or phone number, and a government ID scan.

What stays out there

Deleting your VSCO account removes your profile from VSCO. Photos you shared elsewhere, and any copies others saved or scraped while your profile was public, aren't touched. A public profile with a username you reuse on other sites is also easy to link back to your real name, and people-search sites and search results can keep that link after the account is gone.

Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them, and keeps watching for them to come back.

Frequently asked

What's the difference between deleting and deactivating VSCO?

Deleting is permanent and can't be undone. Deactivating is reversible: you reactivate by signing back in.

Does deleting VSCO cancel my subscription?

No. Cancel your membership separately through Apple, Google Play or VSCO.co.

How long does VSCO take to delete an account?

Several hours, according to VSCO. Your profile may stay viewable during that time.

Can I delete my VSCO account without my password?

VSCO tells people who can't access their login to contact Support, which may ask for ID.
