How to delete a CVS account
CVS has no plain "delete account" button in its privacy policy. You send a deletion request through its privacy rights webform or by phone. CVS says that deletes your CVS.com account, ExtraCare card and CarePass membership too, apart from records it must keep.

Step by step
- 1
Open CVS's privacy policy
Go to the CVS privacy policy and find the section on your privacy rights. It links to the request form for deleting your information.
- 2
Choose how to send the request
CVS accepts deletion requests through a webform, through a password-protected CVS.com portal if you have an account, or by phone. The policy lists 1-800-SHOP-CVS (1-800-746-7287) and 1-833-533-0768 for privacy requests. You can also email ConsumerPrivacy@CVSHealth.com.
- 3
Verify who you are
If you have a CVS.com account, CVS asks you to sign in first. If you don't, it asks for identifying details such as your ExtraCare number, full legal name, email address or phone number. A request doesn't require creating an account.
- 4
Ask for deletion
Select the option to delete your personal information and submit it. CVS says your ExtraCare card, CarePass membership and CVS.com account are deleted as part of the process.
- 5
Keep your confirmation
Save any confirmation or reference number. CVS may decline a request if it can't verify your identity.
Watch out for
- Deleting your data ends your ExtraCare card and any rewards on it. CVS says it can't provide ExtraCare offers without that data.
- CVS says it may keep some information for recordkeeping and to finish transactions you started before the request.
- Residual information may remain in CVS's databases and other records after deletion.
- Different CVS sites have their own privacy policies and phone numbers. Use the policy for the site you actually used.
Other ways to do it
- 1
Only stop pharmacy rewards
If you only want to end rewards at the pharmacy, cancel your Privacy Authorization instead. You stay an ExtraCare member. Our guide to deleting a CVS pharmacy account covers it.
What stays out there
Closing your CVS account stops new data collection at CVS. It doesn't reach copies that data brokers and people-search sites already hold, such as an old address or phone number tied to your name, or the profile a loyalty or marketing list sold on. Those sit outside CVS and need their own removal requests.
Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them, then watches for them coming back. If you want to check what's out there, run a free scan.
Frequently asked
Does deleting my CVS.com account delete my ExtraCare card?
Through the privacy deletion request, yes. CVS says the ExtraCare card, CarePass membership and CVS.com account are all deleted as part of the process.
Do I need a CVS.com account to ask for deletion?
No. CVS says submitting a privacy rights request doesn't require creating an account. Without one, it asks for details such as your ExtraCare number, name, email or phone number.
Can I just cancel my CVS account instead of deleting my data?
CVS's policy describes the deletion request as the route. To stop only pharmacy rewards, you can cancel your Privacy Authorization and stay an ExtraCare member.
Will CVS keep any of my information?
Possibly. CVS says it may retain certain information for recordkeeping and to complete transactions you began earlier, and some residual information may remain in its records.
