Download your data first
Lyft says your data is not available after an account deletion, so request a copy before you delete.

Open Privacy in the Lyft app
In your Lyft app, tap Privacy, then Account Security.

Choose the deletion option
Select the option to delete your account and follow the prompts.

Confirm
Type DELETE and select Delete account. Lyft says it can't undo the request once you do.
Watch out for
- A deletion request applies to both your rider and driver accounts. Lyft says there's no way to request only partial deletion.
- Deleted accounts can't be restored. To use Lyft again you create a new account.
- Lyft aims to respond within 30 days of receiving your request.
- Lyft may refuse a request if there is a trust, safety or fraud issue on the account.

Lyft Business accounts
Lyft Business accounts are handled differently. A support agent has to delete them, and the request must come from the organization admin's work email.
What stays out there
Deleting your Lyft account stops Lyft from holding an active profile for you. It doesn't reach copies that other companies already have. Data brokers and people-search sites that collected your name, phone number or address, and old search results that point at your profile, stay where they are.
Ride history can include pickup and drop-off addresses, and phone numbers tied to a Lyft account can end up in marketing and caller-ID databases. Deleting the account doesn't reach those copies. Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them, so the cleanup doesn't stop at one account.
