Step by step
- 1
Withdraw your Depop Balance
Move any money out of your Depop Balance before you start.
- 2
Finish or refund open sales
Complete or refund outstanding sales and resolve any open disputes.
- 3
Open your account details
In the Depop app, go to My Depop > My account > Account details.
- 4
Choose the delete option
On iPhone, scroll down in Account details to the delete option and confirm. Android uses a different route, covered below.
- 5
Confirm the request
Deletion is irreversible, and Depop says all your data will be permanently deleted.
Watch out for
- Deletion can't be undone, so download or screenshot anything you need first, such as sales history.
- Closing an account doesn't cancel payments you already owe or are owed.
- Depop's privacy policy says some data may be kept for legal or technical reasons before it's deleted or anonymized.
- Android and web don't have a one-tap delete. Both go through a request that Depop handles.

Other ways to do it
- 1
On Android
Go to My Depop > My account > Profile and choose delete. This opens a contact form, and Depop processes the request for you.
- 2
On the web
Send Depop a request from the email address linked to your account. Choose the Delete My Account option, and include your username and your reason for leaving.
- 3
For someone who has died
Depop says only immediate family or the family's solicitor or executor can request closure. You'll need proof of the relationship and proof of death.
What stays out there
Closing an account stops new data piling up at Depop. It doesn't reach copies that data brokers, people-search sites and old search results already hold, such as a public profile or an email address that was scraped or sold on.
Serus finds where your details are listed and removes them. See the data broker opt-out guides for the sites that matter most where you live.
